This volume takes place after Warriors #6: The Darkest Hour.

Ravenpaw is an exiled warrior living with an old cat named Barley in a Twoleg barn. His life is peaceful. Then a group of rogue cats show up with a queen about to have her kits. Barley and Ravenpaw offer them shelter until the newly born kits are old enough to travel. Ravenpaw is more than happy to help out, but Barley sees a lot more than Ravenpaw and thinks the visitors have overstayed their welcome.

After they leave, things quiet down...then everything that can go wrong does go wrong.

This was an interesting read. I have never been much for the graphic novel genre so it was a bit out of my element but I definitely found an appreciation for it. It doesn't hurt that there's cat. I love cats. (

Ravenpaw's fans will be happy with this interesting peek into Ravenpaw's life away from Thunderclan. It gives more insight into the farm he's made home, his relationship with Barley, and their daily life. The two have forged a peaceful and happy life on the farm but when new cats arrive everything stands to change. Will Barley and Ravenpaw manage to keep their idyllic life? (

Summary: This is a manga inspired by the book "Warriors" by Erin Hunter. It focuses on Ravenpaw and his best friend, Barley. He was a clan cat now living on a farm. When a new cat clan kicks him off his farm, he and Barley goes to find his old clan to help him take back the farm.

Personal Experience: I thought it was neat how this manga derived from a chapter book. I really like the pictures.

Classroom Ideas: I would have the class write a page of manga and we would combine to make a book. I would also have the class write a graphic novel from a book they enjoy.
