This collection of over three hundred prefaces of the Eucharistic Prayer is a blend of ancient and modern texts. It is intended to provide a resource for worship. Through the seasons of the year, and for many pastoral occaisions besides, these prayers are both vehicles for thanksgiving and resources for teaching. Their theological and pastoral content is considerable, and while they are intended as variable openings to the Eucharistic Prayer, they will provide a solid basis for many other forms of public worship and private devotion.
