Nothing at all like the "real" Harriet...and that's a shame. I don't think she would have acted like this at all. It's very hard to capture the original character, no matter how much you may have loved her when you were growing up. Otherwise, it was a pleasant little read, if you can ignore your preconceived notions. ( )

I had read the original Harriet the Spy when I was young and this book was very true to the original. This book was very enjoyable and a great mystery for kids. It is also quite sweet and sarcastic--a strange but compelling combination.

I couldn't really get into this. I preferred the original Harriet the Spy book to this one, it got a little boring and monotonous. Maybe I'm too old for it or something, but stopped reading it halfway through and going to pass it on. ( )

Ole Golly returns to take care of 12 year old Harriet while her parents are in Paris, France. In the previous book Olly Golly leaves to get married. Ole Golly is acting unlike herself. she is very sad and claims not to feel well. Harriet spies on Ole Golly to find out what is wrong. ( )
