This is a story of a typical family that makes typical messes. The difference that happens when mom is away is that the children try and quickly clean before she gets home and sees the disaster.
This could be a great way to teach kids that cleaning up is important. (

I thought this story was cute. Children and their pets make messes. But, when this family makes a huge mess while mom is away, they rush to clean it up before she gets back. They don’t want to upset her. So they band together to clean and take care of mom while she rests. This could be a life lesson for children to clean up your messes. I also really enjoyed the images of this story by R.W. Alley. The characters were cute, and watching them make messes was entertaining.
