Curious George is a classic series that many kids enjoy. Being that the main character is a monkey and the rest are humans makes the book fun and interesting. George is very curious and sometimes that curiosity puts him in strange situations. George would get sprayed by skunks and chased by other animals in the forrest due to curiosity. When reading this to kids, they are always asking the question of what will happen to George next. I think the lesson taught in the book is that you should never wonder off by yourself or bad things will follow. ( )

George went camping, and while doing so learned how to put up a tent but did not do so successfully. The man was worried about him getting in trouble, but that was too late. Curious George made his way through the came site and eventually the woods, watching and learning new things that may have stemmed his interests. ( )

I didn't really enjoy this book. First, I didn't like the plot which showed the monkey disobeying orders of being good, and only causes trouble. Personally I know that the monkey is like a child and he is acting out and being bad, but then acting as if it is all okay in the end without some sort of a punishment for causing so many problems. I also didn't really like the language, it is written for young children, but it just didn't seem as descriptive as I would have wanted to read, all it would basically say was that George was scared and not use many other types of words to explain his feelings. Or even explaining more about his surroundings to really give the reader a more of a personal visual in their mind. I think that the main idea of this book would have been about how sometimes one can be unhelpful, but then they can also do much good when the time comes. ( )
