Interesting rather than great. Poetry (for me) is meant to be GREAT, the best possible, and this is just OK: it rhymes, they are about some interesting things, and it doesn't amount to much.

Includes the classics, and it's impossible not to read them to yourself in a John Cooper Clarke style voice and style. But they really need him doing it himself to give the full effect. ( )

Tidvis rolig; framkallar igenkännande, eller kanske nostalgiska?, leenden. Att läsa denna lilla samling är att resa tillbaka till en annan tid, en annan värld, när poliser var snutar och väntan på nattbussen var oändligt lång...
Ibland tar det stilistiska överhand, och vissa av dikterna känns trots att de tolkats till ett svenskt sammanhang otidsenliga.
Eftersom jag inte läst JCC på originalspråk kan jag inte bedöma tolkningen, men på det hela taget är samlingen värd att läsa.

Somewhere between funny and knowing, perhaps nostalgic?, smiles this interpretation takes at least this reader back to another time, another reality.
Sometimes style seems more important than message, and despite the effort to interpret JCC's linguistic pirouettes to contemporary swedish some of the material feels dated.
As I haven't read anything by JCC in its original english I'm not the person to decide on the interpretation, but all in all it was a fun experience to read this collection. ( )
