A cute tale about a little lion cub who is on an adventure to find some friends. This was a "counting from one to ten" book where the lion cub roars at different animals asking to be friends, but they all run away. The use of the gutter to separate the lion cub from the other animals added to the feeling of him being alone until he is all by himself in the middle of the book. Fortunately, he finds a group of nine other lion cubs and they all become friends and go around roaring. ( )

A little lion roars around trying to make friends with one monkey, two flamings, 3 warthog and so forth. He is so loud they run away from him. He doesn't understand they are scared of lions. Then he finds ten little lions to roar with and play.
