Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary, by Juan Williams (read June 21, 2002) This biography (published in 1998) of Marshall is by a journalist, and is not at all well-written, and is notably shy on good discussion of legal issues. The subject is interesting, but a better biography I hope exists or will someday exist. The author is obviously sympathetic to his subject, but one must admit that Marshall could have been a much better justice if he had carried the work ethic of his lawyering years in the battle against racism to the Supreme Court.
