Grandpa's Garden Lunch is the ninth picture-book I have read from author/illustrator Judith Caseley, and like so many of her other titles, it offers an engaging 'slice of life' story in which family love and togetherness are paramount. The story is simple but heartwarming, and the accompanying artwork, done in watercolor and colored pencil, is just lovely. I liked the focus here on gardening, and on eating from one's own garden, as this is something I think many of us, especially in our modern, urbanized world, have lost. Recommended to anyone looking for picture-books featuring grandparents and/or gardening. ( )
