We read this book in class and I thought it was the cutest book. The book was a little long but it did go thoroughly on the math problems. I also loved it because it didn't seem we were learning math but instead just reading a fun story. ( )

While this book is supposed to introduce math and reading, it is not a great set up as in the flow of the book. This is supposed to be a children book for young children, but the adding and then multiplying gets very confusing. Also, the artwork looks like it is for a young audience, but the math problems are for an older audience. The idea of the book was good, but the execution was done poorly. ( )

This book was very sweet and easy to read. It tells the story of a kangaroo on his birthday. He keep asking animals to play but they all have too much to do (they are planning a party for him). Each time an animal lists its things to do there is a math page for it. I liked the way the author combined math and reading. The pictures of very colorful and amazing to look at. ( )

My group in class read this book because it does fit the criteria for a good mathematics book. The fantasy and story line does not coincide with mathematics. ( )

Kangaroo just wants to play with all his friends but they are way too busy. The reason why they are so busy is because they are planning kangaroo a birthday party. Each one of his friends has a specific task that is represented with numbers on "math pages." This book to me was very confusing and I wouldn't use it in my classroom. ( )
