Cooking & Food. Health & Fitness. Nonfiction. HTML:Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there's solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized.".… (más)

A variety of recipes. Mostly vegetarian and organic. ( )

Interesting book. It's for sure no nonsense, however... I can't go vegan. I'm sorry. I like my eggs and chicken too much. I learned some new things though. ( )

I'm not reading this to lose weight. I'm just trying to be more informed about what I eat. This probably won't be the last book that I'll read about food.

-- I'm still not sure with the citrus = acidic but alkaline when consumed thing. I tried to do some research but there is contradicting information depending on which site I was on.

-- Only scanning through chapters 4 and 5 since I already don't eat meat and animal byproducts. I don't eat animals but I do eat too much junk food and white rice (I'm Asian) and not much veggies and fruits.

-- So before you say, “I could never give up meat,” realize that nearly every single vegetarian on the planet said those same words.
Maybe 'not every single one'. There are a few that were vegetarians since birth.
I said this while eating at McDo with a friend. A month after that I went full-on vegan.

-- Skipped chapter 6. Too brutal, this should be what's shown in Halloween movies. Damn, I've never even watched any animal abuse documentaries and I'm NOT planning to.

-- Awesome. Except for the fast and detox thing. Detox should be removed from the dictionary, in my opinion. I tried fasting before and it's awful! I did it for religious purposes cause I was in a cult for a year.

I'll still eat rice, maybe I'll use brown rice instead.

That's right, I read it, and I'm not ashamed to say it! Just don't tell anyone... ( )

I picked this up off the library shelf because I had heard that it was a pretty funny, informative read. I found it to be wrong on both counts. If I had known about it's "Vegan or Bust" attitude towards nutrition (and fear-mongering) I probably wouldn't have bothered.

This book isn't funny. If anything it only perpetuates woman-on-woman hate and self loathing for one's body. If you want to be skinny, you have to really hate yourself and be willing to no longer enjoy eating food at all, ever again.

They actually suggest holding off eating until you are absolutely ravenous. Don't eat breakfast until you can no longer stand it, and don't eat lunch until you are insane with hunger. How is that healthy?

O that's right. THIS BOOK IS WRITTEN BY MODELS.

When a book suggests "Donate Blood. You can save a life and lose weight at the same time" (pg. 182) something is wrong. Very, very wrong. ( )
