First, the poems aren't your typical poems. They are funny, full of rhymes and sometimes make you scratch your head. For example, there is a poem about the "poor potatoes" underground. I have never read a poem about potatoes but it sure made me wonder about them after reading it! Second, the illustrations are beautifully drawn. For example, they are colorful, eye catching, and drawn with bright colors to make the reader stay interested. I think the overall message of this book is about animals, friendship and diversity. Each poem brings a unique aspect that makes the book fun to read. This is a book with several short poems. Most of them have to do with cities, towns, or states. I found this book to have an older nursery rhyme look to it and it was a little difficult to read. Some of the poems were cute but overall I did not really care for the book. This book could be used to introduce children to poetry and possibly have them try to come up with some poems of their own. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
