This has always been my favorite Star Wars novel. ( )

I don't remember much about this book except that Han and Leia's children are finally old enough to have personalities. Jacen is a sweet kid, Jaina loves taking apart various droids, and Anakin is far too powerful in the Force for his own good. ( )

I had a lot of hope for this book. The kids are kidnapped and exploited, A lot of political intrigue, but that's where the plus side ends.

This to me read like a phone book. its slow to pick up and really doesn't..out of all of the star wars books I have read I think this is my least favorite. ( )

Right from the beginning: Leia’s children have been stolen, Chewbacca injured, along with Han Solo and Luke Skywalker gone on a Jedi scavenger hunt. Leia feels helpless, and will not stop until her children are safe. She quickly decides that she must rescue her children from the possible Dark side influence that she felt. Vonda McIntyre’s The Crystal Star is a great, moving novel that develops unexplored concepts and characters of its time. Although the book does develop for the first time multiple characters such as Jaina and Jacen, the roles such as Leia, Han, and Luke did not capture the characters the way the canon universe have developed them. I had found many parts hard to follow such as the physical concept of Waru. Along with that, after the book had finished, many questions were left unanswered. Overall it was a very different styled Star Wars book, but it wasn’t terrible. ( )

Pretty much the most horrible book published under the Star Wars name. Characterization, prose, dialogue, plot...it's all spectacularly awful.

I threw this book across the room after willing myself to finish it. Please don't bother unless that kind of thing amuses you. ( )
