This book is great to have in the classroom because it tells kids how to use the Pythagorean theorem in a fun way. The book follows a young Pythagoras and how he uses math in his everyday life. I think many students will be engaged with this book because the main character is their age and relatable. ( ) The story follows a young Pythagoras as he is confronted with problems with angles, such as the most direct sailing distance or figuring out how long a ladder needs to be, and his discovery of how to find the answer. The book is visually pleasing and fun to follow. This book is great to learn about angles and introduce Pythagorean theorem. I would love to have this book in my classroom because it could be used while teaching a lesson over the Pythagorean Theorem. This story is about a little boy names Pythagoras. He goes to Samos to Alexandria, where he meets Neferheperhersekper, a builder, that teaches him about a right angle. Pythagoras learns a lot about geometry and how to measure angles. This book follows young Pythagoras and his discovery to the Pythagorean theorem in Greece. There was an issue Pythagoras overheard about a ladder not being tall enough when angled and he wished he could help solve it. He then sailed with his dad for Egypt and there discovered right triangles. He used this info back home to find out the correct length they needed for a ladder. Although this book may seem childish for middle school, I think it would be a good introduction to Pythagorean theorem and the students would really like it Pythagoras is a curious kid who is always looking to help. This book gives real-world examples of why measuring angles into triangles is important. Pythagoras is placed in ancient Greece and is great for ages 7 to 10. Pythagoras is the main character but all of the characters seemed to be annoyed by him until he finds a way to help them. This story shows that instead of batting off your kids' curiosity, let it grow instead. I thought this was a great book that made it really clear how right triangles are made. I think this book will be a great introduction. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
