The top juried annual of illustration from all over the field, from magazines, children's books, promotional material and the artists' own personal files, is turning 25. The last time it had a big birthday, top educators asked to comment on its influence said "American Illustration is quite simply the most important book for any student who aspires to learn how to catch the elusive one great idea" (Cooper Union), "American Illustration is American art at its best, a rare experience in enjoyment and a trip to illustration Utopia" (Savannah College of Art and Design), and "American Illustration is the most innovative and visually exciting overview of illustrative work available today" (Rhode Island School of Design). The jury has spoken.
