Whether we regard it as a glorified, baroque form of vandalism or as a valid contemporary art form, graffiti art and its garish or subtle manifestations and offshoots is all around us as a permanent fixture in the modern landscape. The sketches presented in this volume do not represent the finished pieces on the wall or train, but rather the preliminary stages involved in their creation. Whilst some sketches are only rough plans, others are celebrations and alternatives to painting on a wall. These sketches are works of art in themselves, just as complex as the finished article.
