PDFCA1 | http://docs.lib.purdue.edu/dcptoolkit | A Data Curation Profile is a tool that can be used to provide a foundational base of information about a particular set of data that may be curated by an academic library or other institution | The Data Curation Profile is intended to address the needs of an individual researcher or research group with regards to the “primary” data generated or used for a particular project. The data that will be addressed in the interviews and serve as the focus of the subsequent Data Curation Profile should be determined in the preparation phase of the process of developing a Data Curation Profile (see “Part 4 – How to Develop a Data Curation Profile” in this User’s Guide) |

UF - The Data Curation Profiles Toolkit is to provide a set of resources and guidelines for creating Data Curation Profiles. It includes a User Guide, an Interviewer's Manual, an Interview Worksheet, and a Data Curation Profile Template. The toolkit is designed to help information professionals conduct interviews with researchers or research groups to gather information about their data and their needs for data curation. The information collected through these interviews can then be used to develop a Data Curation Profile, which serves as a foundational document for managing and curating a particular data set. The toolkit also provides guidance on how to share and use the Data Curation Profiles at both the individual and institutional level. Additionally, the toolkit can be used as a guide for developing data services at other institutions and as objects of research to better understand researchers' data sharing, curation, and preservation needs. The toolkit provides a structured framework and set of questions to gather information about a particular data set and the researcher's needs for that data set. It also provides recommendations and guidelines for conducting the interviews, handling and storing materials, and sharing the Data Curation Profiles with others. The toolkit guides the creation of a data curation profile, which serves as a comprehensive document that captures important information about the researcher's data and their requirements for its management and curation. The toolkit aims to assist researchers in understanding the needs and priorities for managing and curating their data throughout its lifecycle.
