El Jardin, Creating the Modern Mediterranean Villa presents an origins narrative of one of South Florida's oldest estates and the first to claim a Modern Mediterranean identity. Archival and contemporary photographs illustrate essays on the opening days of El Jardin in Coconut Grove at the dawn of the 20th century with the arrival of the John Bindley family, architect Richard Kiehnel and builder John Orr, its architecture and landscape; and extend the arc of the Villa's life into its second century as Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart.
