There is so much information in the book, that weavers might work at the contents for years without ever covering everything.

One of the wonderful things about this volume is the number of different structures covered, including color-and-weave on two shafts, taqueté and jin, lampas, deflected double weave, shadow weave and much more. There are projects/drafts for 2 to 8 shafts and for the four shaft weaver, there is much to be explored using multiple colors in the warp and a variety of weave structures.

Most of the drafts can be woven on a loom with treadles. A few of the drafts do need either a dobby or to be woven on a table loom. All of the four shaft drafts could be woven using a direct tie up to cover all the shaft combinations.

I think this latest book by Marian Stubinetsky is stimulating and exciting in its scope. ( )
