Es enthalt rund 80 Beschreibungen von Klosterbibliotheken, darunter uber 50 von aktiven Klostern. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf bisher kaum bekannte Buchersammlungen von Frauenklostern gelegt. In einheitlich strukturierten Artikeln werden Buchbestande, Bibliotheksgeschichte sowie der heutige Zustand von Klosterbibliotheken beschrieben. Les fonds, l'histoire des bibliotheques ainsi que l''tat actuel de ces bibliotheques y sont decrits dans des articles uniformises pour faciliter la recherche. Il Repertorio delle biblioteche degli ordini religiosi in Svizzera e un'opera di consultazione che presenta i fondi di libri degli ordini religiosi. Comprende la descrizione di circa 80 biblioteche di ordini religiosi, oltre 50 delle quali di monasteri attivi. Particolare attenzione e stata rivolta alle collezioni di libri dei monasteri femminili, finora pressoche sconosciute. Gli articoli, strutturati in modo omogeneo, illustrano fondi, storia e attuale situazione delle biblioteche degli ordini religiosi.
