50 years ago, the Festival of London was held, the great exposition of post-war optimism. Drawing on colour photographs of London streets during the late 1940s and 1950s, the author recreates the lost London streetscape of the postwar era, the years of austerity and reconstruction, taking London's public transport as its cornerstone.
