Sobriety, the conditions of his inheritance, & trust makes for a long book. Lana likes to jump to conclusions and there's a kid involved so that makes things drag on more. Decent read but could've been shorter and it does tie up the series and what each brother is bequeathed. Cal Kane and Alana Castillo have been either friends or lovers for most of their lives, but when Cal can't stop drinking, he decides to leave Lana forever. After Cal's task in his grandfather's will is revealed, Cal sees a chance to get back some of what he lost when he left Lana 6 years before, but Lana has a daughter now and is hesitant to trust Cal after all her put her through. She may be willing to give him another chance if only he can figure out how to stop drinking. Final Offer is a good finale to the Dreamland Billionaires series. Of all three of the brothers, Cal has the most difficult journey to happiness. As with the other books in the series, one of the characters must deal with a some kind of debilitating issue; in this story, Cal must learn to cope with his anxiety using something other than alcohol. I don't know how true to life this representation of alcoholism is, but it seems like the reader is hit over the head with Cal's condition a great deal throughout the book. The supporting characters work well in this story, especially Cami, who serves as the glue that brings Cal and Alana together. This book probably could have been shorter and achieved the same success, but overall Final Offer provides a satisfying ending to the Dreamland Billionaires series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Tasked with selling his grandfather's Michigan lake house in order to receive his inheritance, Callahan "Cal" Kane is determined to do right by his grandfather, but standing in his way is Alana Castillo, Cal's childhood friend and now co-owner of the lake house. Alana's mother was the caretaker of the lake house and Alana share fond memories there, not only with Cal's grandfather but with Cal himself. While Cal's destructive ways stood in the way of he and Alana being anything more, Alana does not want to part with the lake house. In order to settle the issue, Cal and Alana make a deal. If Cal can sell the property for double what the house is worth, Alana will agree to the sale. Call spends the next three months renovating the property into the dream home that it is and during this time, he is able to spend time reacquainting himself with Alana and her adopted daughter. But Cal's bad habits are never far away and he will eventually have to choose between bettering himself or losing Alana. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
