Opposite attraction. Julian moves back home to his family estate temporarily to focus on writing a book. He’s distracted by the pretty gardener that keeps her own schedule and always seems a bit familiar. Hallie had a crush on Julian back in high school and she’s determined that now he’s back, she is going to get his attention as well as a kiss. Julian is a bit rigid in his schedule and it takes the impulsive Hallie to wake him up. The two are opposite in views and opinions but attracted and interested enough to pursue. The story is cute but could have done without the added complication of the secret admirers letters. I found it hard to believe they just didn’t automatically just assume it was the other. Yes, they had a suspicion but the letters then lended to a second relationship, lying, hiding and guilt which made it all too complicated. Of course, it’s a romance and we can guarantee a happy ending. A bit of humor, some sweet and sexy time and ultimately a love connection. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER From Tessa Baileyâ??#1 New York Times bestselling author, TikTok favorite, and "the Michelangelo of dirty talk" (Entertainment Weekly)â??comes a spicy small town rom-com about a grumpy professor and the bubbly neighbor he clashes with at every turn... Hallie Welch fell hard for Julian Vos at fourteen, after they almost kissed in the dark vineyards of his family's winery. Now the prodigal hottie has returned to Napa Valley, and when Hallie is hired to revamp the gardens on the Vos estate, she wonders if she'll finally get that smooch. But the starchy professor isn't the teenager she remembers and their polar opposite personalities clash spectacularly. One wine-fueled girls' night later, Hallie can't shake the sense that she did something recklessâ??and then she remembers the drunken secret admirer letter she left for Julian. Oh shit. On sabbatical from his ivy league job, Julian plans to write a novel. But having Hallie gardening right outside his window is the ultimate distraction. She's eccentric, chronically late, often literally covered in dirtâ??and so unbelievably beautiful, he can't focus on anything else. Until he finds an anonymous letter sent by a woman from his past. Even as Julian wonders about this admirer, he's sucked further into Hallie's orbit. Like the flowers she plants all over town, Hallie is a burst of color in Julian's grayscale life. For a man who irons his socks and runs on tight schedules, her sunny chaotic energy makes zero sense. But there's something so familiar about her... and her very presence is turning his world upside down. "Tessa Bailey is the queen of rom-coms. Long may she reign!" â?? I’ve come to love Tessa Bailey’s books, so I have been looking forward to this one.
I will say, it wasn’t quite as perfect as Hook, Line and Sinker, but I did enjoy it. It was a bit slow at first and I didn’t quite buy into the characters right away, but as soon as Julian started to let loose, it got better. His inner dialoged had me cracking up! Hallie is such a sweetheart, and her antics were hilarious. I did find that it ended a bit abruptly. I know there is a second book to come, so hopefully there a bit more of a wrap up for these two in Natalie’s story. ( )
