"Aimee Pokwatka's novel Self-Portrait with Nothing is "fraught and deeply moving...the work of a genuinely exciting new talent." (Booker Prize winner, George Saunders). If a picture paints a thousand worlds... Abandoned as an infant on the local veterinarian's front porch, Pepper Rafferty was raised by two loving mothers, and now at thirty-six is married to the stable, supportive Ike. The library sticker read "science fiction" and I guess technically, this novel is that. It's also a thriller, a novel of self-discovery, a journey to Poland and more. I enjoyed reading this story and feel like I learned a bit about love and self-image in doing so. ( )

so repetitive - basically the characters just keep thinking “of another version of myself in the universe who did or didn’t do this/that?”
Sliding doors wannabes
