Started this quite a while ago, but it didn't hold my attention enough to finish. Picked it up again (and its sequel) after reading the new story connected to these books. The latter one is much lighter (and likely needed to be given the shorter length), but there is another connected series I haven't read, so the departure in tone between the first two and the third may be better explained once I read those. Liked the world building and the characters. ( )
