There is no reason for this story to be told in rhyme, as the rhyme itself is not exceptional; in my opinion, more natural phrasing would have been preferable. However, Parsons effectively sets up Morgan's lifelong desire to help and his inventiveness.
Back matter shows an illustration from his patent (not the three-color lights we have today; no mention of who was responsible for that). (
