This was a very cute take on the famous story, ROMEO AND JULIET by William Shakespeare. It retold the classic story in a way that may be easier for children to interpret by utilizing a cat and dog as the opposing families - as cats and dogs notoriously do not get along. I think that this story would be a great way to introduce younger kids to this story as it would help them to understand the overall concept and opposition between characters. ( )

Romeow and Drooliet is about the story of Romeo and Juliet but in terms for a child to understand. The ending is different in that it offers a happy ending as opposed to the ending of Shakespeare's story. It adds such a funny spin to the book because when Drooliet runs across the street and is hit by the car, Romeow gives her one of his nine lives to save her! Although this book is geared towards children, this would be funny to read to high school kids before you read the actual story, just to make them laugh! ( )

This book took an interesting spin on William Shakespeare's, Romeo and Juliet. I believe this is a good book to read to children because it tells majority of the story, but in a simpler language for younger children to understand. The book has a happy ending, unlike the actual tale of Romeo and Juliet, which also makes it more well suited for younger children. ( )

I like this story about Romeow and Drooliet. This story is about Romeow the cat of the Felinis family, and Drooliet is the dog of the Barkers family. Both families have hate toward each other. However, when Romeow and his friends snuck into the Barkers party. Romeow met Drooliet at the party. They both fell in love and got married. When they went to the park, family and friends confronted them. A fight broke out over Romeow's and Drooliet's love. Romeow was sent to jail, so Drooliet ran across the street without looking, that's when a car hit her. I was happy at the end when Romeow gave Drooliet one of his nine lives for her to survive. This story is a remake of Romeo and Juliet creatively. I know children would love this story. I believe the theme is love. ( )

This book is similar to a child's version of Romeo and Juliet. This is a love story created with cats and dogs yet I feel like some important parts of the original story were missing. Certain puns that were created may be a bit difficult for some children to understand if they do not know the original story. This cat and dog love each other but are constantly pushed away from each other by family and friends since they know that these two types on animals should not get along with each other. ( )
