From the first moment, this series of standalone books was introduced, I was hooked on the idea. I mean, why wouldn't I be considering that they were being written by several of my automatic must-read authors. This book was much different than I was expecting. That is not to say that in a bad way, it just was different. I was expecting more darkness if that makes sense or depravity from a man known as "Beast."

Beast was a terror to those around him if they went against what he deemed was wrong. He was brutal in that sense. However, with his little lamb, Rosabelle, he does show that he has a softer side. Which makes sense because even a monster needs to find love. It was interesting to see how her coming into being here turned out in this story. The BDSM was a nice way to introduce that into the story and make their connection stronger.

I would have liked to have seen the story a little more fleshed out in regards to the exploration of this lifestyle. It seemed pretty in fast and that bummed me a little because the potential was there for so much more. Especially, as the set up for the whole club and world was integral in the story. As I mentioned, the story was good, however, I wanted more from it. More of Rosabelle fighting the idea of being a natural submissive and her "captivity" to finally blooming like the rose she could be. This was a novella so my guess is that there was too much of a time constraint to make that happen in this short amount of space. I also was curious about Luca and Paige. I am hoping that if she continues this series that maybe I will get more of the things I wanted in those books.
