This book is about Anita, a young girl who immigrated from her home in the Dominican Republic to America. It discusses feelings of hope and sorrow that immigrants may feel when leaving their country. I think this would be a good book for students to have available in the classroom, especially if their families are immigrants. Ir could also be used when discussing immigration. This story is a beautiful and vivid book that follows Anita’s journey of moving out of the Dominican Republic. She goes through the hardships of saying goodbye to family members and getting ready for a new journey in a new place. This is a good book for the class to show a story about someone going through a transitional period in their life. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Anita watches the dragons high above her as she hops from one cement roof to another in her village in the Dominican Republic. But being the valiant princesa she is, she never lets them scare her. Then one day, Anita must face her fears to begin a new life in a new country. Will she be brave enough to enter the belly of the beast and take flight to new adventures?
