It covers Physiology and Psychology, equipment and armor, and is an excellent guide for both the fighter and the trainer. Note: this is not a book of excuses. Rather, is describes the most common stumbling blocks and tangible means of overcoming them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"The Armored Rose is primarily a book about the difference between men and women when they meet a physical confrontation. The book focuses on the physical differences between tendons, hands, body ratio as well as the chemical differences in the endocrine system and how it effects the reactions both he and she have on the fighting field. The book also dives in depth to examine what is going on between the ears of the female fighter. Throughout the book there are specific tips for trainers on how to apply the information. The book makes specific references to fighting in the SCA but has been used in Law Enforcement and other Martial Arts when working with women, and male trainers. Any trainer will likely find information well worth the price." No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

So many concepts that I had no words for are now much clearer to me. I knew that women had a lower center of gravity and a higher pain tolerance. (have a guy bend over from the waist with his head against the wall and step back until the wall is what is holding up the weight of his head...he won't be able to stand up because his center of gravity is too low. Have a woman do the same experiment and she'll pop right up to her feet every time!) After reading this I just SO badly want to try the ice water experiment! LOL
The illustrations and the style of the writing in this book make it a very usable resource. ( )
