She's the sunshine to his storm cloudStoic, growly Evan Bailey has enough on his plate. A growing business, a pack of brothers who drive him crazy, a gossip-loving small town, and a rivalry that runs deeper than any family feud. Love? That's a hard pass. He already learned the hard way that he's better off alone.Fiona Gallagher has a problem. Or more like ten, but who's counting? The trouble with her car is just the cherry on top of the crap sundae, but she won't let that get her down. Besides, she has a plan. Evan Bailey-that brooding custom car builder who happens to hate her father-is going to help her. He just doesn't know it yet.The last thing Evan needs is the overly cheery Fiona crashing into his solitary life. But her offer is too compelling to ignore. Fiona isn't there to pick through the wreckage of Evan's heart. If he has one, he won't let her anywhere near it. But the tension between them is hot enough to combust. And when she starts to see the cracks in his stony façade, she realizes she's getting more than she bargained for-a lot more-in that big surly man.Author's Note: A grouchy, broody loner meets an adorable badass (who talks to her houseplants). It's the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one with some engine-revving twists. Have a fan ready-you're in for a heart-melting ride.… (más)

This is a "Beauty tames the beast" story. In this one, we meet second oldest Bailey brother Evan. The "Lone Wolf" of the crew. The one who was inexplicably grumpy and reclusive. He meets his match when Fiona Gallagher falls into his life. Fiona is the daughter of the man who sold Evan a stolen car, and stole his dreams of being able to famously flip it. But when an opportunity arises for a new car, Fiona and Evan go on a road trip that changes everything. Fiona is bright and bubbly to Evan's dark and broody. But for whatever reason, he finds he likes having her around.

I really enjoyed this story. Fiona had every reason to hate life, but she remained so bright and optimistic. She became a bit of a lifeline for Evan and he became the one person she could count on. They were a sweet pair. ( )

Perfection

I love it when life ceases to exist around me when I'm reading. That always seems to happen with this author. There is something special about the way she concocts a story. The sense of authentic and down-home qualities that her characters have mixed with perfect secondary characters and the perfect storyline is always a guaranteed success. Loved the Miles family but the Bailey family is quickly taking over as a new favorite.

Huge thanks to Hilton Homesuites for letting this author get piece of mind to give the world this amazing story. Evan and Fiona were special. ( )

Fiona leaves her job working for her father when she suspects that he has gone back to shady dealings in his classic car business. Evan was burned by Fiona's father when he bought a stolen car. Fiona decides to help Evan get another car and in turn he will help her by providing a place for her to get her junker of a car fixed so that she can get on with her life.

The best thing about this book was Fiona. I loved her character. She was quirky without being unrealistic. She had houseplants instead of pets and she talked to them. She was an animal whisperer to any she came across and could charm grumpy, car obsessed men. She could do her own mechanic work....... The romance between her and Evan was cute, but the suspense scenes late in the book were a nice surprise. I enjoyed all the sideline characters and will need to watch for more books about Evan's brothers.

Plenty of emphasis on especially Evan's looks and some steamy scenes that didn't really add that much to the book in my opinion. I thought the characters could have carried the story without the open door. 3.5 stars ( )
