And only she made it back.Today, caving specialist Mike Monroe leads a crew into the world's deepest cave in the former Soviet Union. He's following the path of a mad woman, and the words of an ancient Russian alchemist, that were the basis of the fantastical tale by Jules Verne. But what horrifying things he finds will tear at his sanity and change everything we know about evolution and the world, forever. In the tradition of Primordia, Greig Beck delivers another epic retelling of a classic story in an electrifying and terrifying adventure that transcends the imagination."Down there, beyond the deepest caves, below the crust and the mantle, there is another world."… (más)

This a modern riff on the old Jules Verne classic, but updated with a current technology & Knowledge.

There have been others, as everyone who reads knows...but Mr Beck does this story very well.

The reader is introduced to again to the notion of a a mythical Hidden World deep inside the Earth and a cast of ambitious Caver characters determined to be the first to find out and bring back the discovery for fame and fortune.

The beauty of this book is that the reader is steadily drawn into the drama and the mystery that unfolds as they descend and crawl down thru the cracks within the earth...then they experience the danger and terror of a new, unknown world as they search for hints left behind by long dead explorers who went before.

The beauty of this novel is how-- just like the old Verne stories did years and year ago-- they fill an entire afternoon and late evening with a enthralling tale...like a Movie that lasts All Day.

If you are reading the e-version-- make sure the Tablet Battery is FULLY Charged. You won't want to put it down! ( )
