A fresh and fun start to a new cozy mystery series that made me soooo crave ice cream! Great characters and I loved the Cleveland small town setting. Sometimes cozy mysteries are exactly what I need and this one was a delight. I am excited to see what the next installment brings. ( ) A cute cozy mystery which begins a new series. Bronwyn/Win has returned to her hometown and the Crewse ice cream shop. She finds her grandmother's recipes and plans to revitalize the shop using them. Now, it is winter, and the shop is finally open after construction delays. While trying to encourage people to come to the shop, Win finds a body in the snow. She witnesses a small boy and his mother leaving the scene. When she finds out the dead man's connection to her family, and her father is named a suspect, she knows she has to find a way to clear his name. This is a cute story and it will be fun to follow Win and her sleuthing in the next books. I first heard about this book on Jungle Red Writers (and they rarely steer me wrong), so I picked up a copy and was hooked. Bronwyn Crewse has inherited the family ice cream parlor from her grandfather, and is finally ready for the grand re-opening. If the snow wasn't a bad omen, finding a dead body definitely had to be! Just like the ice cream recipes mentioned in the book, A Deadly Inside Scoop perfectly mixes sweetness and sassy for what I hope becomes an ongoing cozy series. Bronwyn has left her job in the big city and returned home to revamp and run her family’s ice cream store. She delights in making ice cream and developing new flavors. Her plans of a grand opening are delayed, and she ends up opening on the same day as the town is hit with a major snowstorm. With no customers, she decides to resurrection her grandmother’s recipe for snow ice cream. Plans go awry when she finds a dead body in the deep snow. And things become even worse when her father becomes the main suspect in the murder. This tale is a good first novel in the series. The characters are likable and the setting is quaint. The mystery was good enough to keep me reading, and though the dialogue could have been better, the overall package was entertaining. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

This book kicks off a charming cozy mystery series set in an ice cream shop-with a fabulous cast of quirky characters. Recent MBA grad Bronwyn Crewse has just taken over her family's ice cream shop in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and she's going back to basics. Win is renovating Crewse Creamery to restore its former glory, and filling the menu with delicious, homemade ice cream flavors-many from her grandmother's original recipes. But unexpected construction delays mean she misses the summer season, and the shop has a literal cold opening: the day she opens her doors an early first snow descends on the village and keeps the customers away. To make matters worse, that evening, Win finds a body in the snow, and it turns out the dead man was a grifter with an old feud with the Crewse family. Soon, Win's father is implicated in his death. It's not easy to juggle a new-to-her business while solving a crime, but Win is determined to do it. With the help of her quirky best friends and her tight-knit family, she'll catch the ice cold killer before she has a meltdown . . . No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
