With the news covering stories daily about bullies, big government, and excessive school administrators; and box office hits like Horrible Bosses on the rise, Hoffman's book is right in step with a new breed which doesn't take injustice in the workplace lying down. Hoffman would say that it isn't just students, but teachers too, who get bullied in our schools. Even more important than a platform to poke fun at pompous administrative 'dignitaries, ' such as I.C. Balderdash and Principal Dimwitty, None Dare Call it Fraud takes a serious look at the dangers of our schools becoming just one more 'Big Business.' It is a rant against bigger campuses, bigger class sizes, more needless administrative positions, and less personalized education for our youth. 'Education takes place between a student and a caring, knowledgeable teacher and could be accomplished most effectively with each sitting across a log from the other in a wooded setting, ' says Hoffman. Only smaller, more intimate classroom settings could approach this ideal.
