Beautiful beautiful graphic novel! All graphic novels (well, the ones I like) should be printed on enormous, glossy, color pages like this one has. It's probably only for the die-hard Buffy geek, but I thoroughly enjoyed this massive graphic novel. ( )

Pretty wonderful. It plays a fun game with changing artwork style. The only problem is that any of these stories could be an entire book on its own, so the brevity is sometimes frustrating. ( )

I was definitely a watcher of the show and I really enjoyed this graphic novel as a return to that world. I also really liked the different artists who contributed it is really amazing all the different comic styles.

The story itself was also decent, a collection of past-present-future renditions of the slayer mythos. My favorite are the future slayers, though it became a little true blood like in its complaint of vampire politics and coming out of the coffin, it was still a good collection. Also the book is really nicely bound with a red ribbon page marker...nice touch :) ( )

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales by Joss Whedon [et al] is a pre-season eight (though some S8 stories are included) graphic novel featuring a collection of stories about vampires and slayers. Though there is almost no mention of Buffy herself, despite the title, fans of the TV shows Buffy and Angel will enjoy this collection that delves into untold stories of past slayers, and will see a few familiar faces along the way.

Several authors and artists combined their talents to create this collection. Though I have almost no basis for comparison, I'd have to say that most of the stories are extremely well done. The images have an air of solitude which, combined with the text, makes for a thrilling and often chilling read. A couple of the stories had almost childlike images, with the story not much better, but overall this would be a highly entertaining read; especially for those longing for more slayer adventures!
For ages 14 and over. ( )

Buffytales is a collection of stories about various slayers in the Buffy Universe.

Well written and illustrated Buffytales is a wonderful collection of stories to fill the gap between the tv show and the season eight comic series. Although known characters like Buffy, Spike and Angel appear the stories mainly focus on previous slayers and vampires. Written with Joss Whedon's sense humor Buffytales is a must read for any Buffy fan. ( )
