Though this handbook is set out in an easy-to-follow format with plenty of real-life situations and tips, I all but hated how these situations were addressed. Posing a complete 180 from what the title suggests, the adults in this book seem to treat the children as objects to be manipulated. It was actually recommended that teachers make the students be the ones who go home, worried and fretful about their school day, so that the teachers could rest easy. How is this loving? Though the systems which went into creating the philosophy were well-researched and well-expressed, the outcomes were completely contradictory. How is this logical? I took the bare bones, the foundation Love and Logica was built on, and left the rest for the educators who still treat their students as vessels to be filled and directed, not unique individuals to be helped on their path. ( ) I read this book for a classroom management class. My initial interest in the book was based on the title and it’s idea: Love and Logic. This book is about the whole theory that Love and Logic takes on classroom management. It discusses how it works, the principles of it, myths, solutions, experiments, and general tips. I found some of the things in this book helpful, but I certainly wouldn’t take the theory and use it as it. As with most, if not all theories, there are parts that I would tweak to fit my needs and beliefs. A decent book with a lot of suggestions on how to approach teaching. I think some of it is a little too idealistic and don't think everything the authors suggest will work in every classroom, but I like how it takes a different approach to classroom management that goes against a person's "common sense." sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
