I think that this book would be a great book to begin to expose students to what engineering is and the different types of engineers that there are. I think that I would use this with 4th-grade students most likely because I feel like they would be able to engage with it the most. Students will learn how nine types of engineers design and build all sorts of things, from the tiny microcircuitry in your smartphone to large projects like dams and bridges that transform the very face of the planet An extension opportunity I might do in the classroom is to have students find something that they want to engineer a solution to and work through that together. This is a wonderful book with beautiful nostalgic/retro illustrations. In this book readers learn about different types of engineers and how they build things big and small. ( )
