Abstract: Ways women can succeed in today's organizations and empower themselves and others are discussed. Corporate power and organizational structures are explored. The readerwill be taught to cope with the world as a worker, a supervisor, a manager, a top executive; as a young or old single woman, married womean; and a mother. Options are promoted and women will learn that it is possible to assess organizational needs and learn that skills can be transferred between fields; women tend to know more than they admit to themselves; risk is essential for success; andsharing power increases power. Contrary to past experiences women are compatible with power and certain feminine qualities are intrinsic to power. Discussed are: power; phases of work life; looking for a job; the first days to work; the early years; supervision; middle management; top executive; and retirement. (kbc).
