It's not just the sassy women and hot guys. It's the whole feel. As a reader it's like you've found home...the people populating the town just happen to make it even better. I love the idea of a second chance at love - and there's no one I'd rather see go through it then Grace and Reed. Major life changes at the same time as your first love which bring you back to the same town? Sounds like fate to me, but not necessarily to Grace. Watching Reed try and get her heart to overtake her mind is absolutely spellbinding. Received as a gift Modern meets small town with huge personality. You can take the girl out of the city, but can you take the city out of the girl? Grace is no one's country girl. Fireworks are what she needs, not country living. So why is she rethinking her stance on cowboys? Reed is a walking heartache. Been there, done that and have the bruises to prove it, are the words swimming in her head. Will she listen to her head or follow her heart? Embracing Her Heart brings a colorful canvas of heat, heart and humor to an already picturesque landscape. When lies and ambition separate soul mates, will they eventually find their way back to each other? That is the question being asked in the newest Melissa Foster series, and in my humble opinion, this first book has more depth than I was prepared for, but like most Melissa Foster books, it sucked me into the pages. Embracing Her Heart set in Oak Falls, Virginia, and is centered around the return of the prodigal daughter Grace Montgomery, and her vacation from her job as screenwriter and Broadway producer, and come home to teach a class for her sister, the last thing she needed was to be dragged out of her bed by her sisters at o'dark thirty, to watch the hot guys if Oak Falls train the horses, but then seeing her ex there shocked her to her core, but you cannot help but like Grace, with all the pain she has gone through, she is still a strong woman. Reed Cross was home to stay after his uncle had a heart attack, and seeing Grace again sealed his happiness in being home, but when the painful truth is revealed, it shakes both Reed and Grace to their core. When it comes to Reed I had instant sympathy for his character, with his mother dying and his father abandoning him he was very lucky to be raised by his Aunt and Uncle. They with letting Grace go, Chicago, and coming home again, it would make anyone want to bury the head in the sand, but Reed is strong, despite the hits he keeps standing. Melissa Foster has hit a home run with Embracing Her Heart! It's such a great book to start a series with, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book! I give Embracing Her Heart 5 stars! Small town, second chance romance, and sibling bonds form the basis for Embracing her Heart by Melissa Foster. Grace couldn't wait to leave her small town and that meant leaving Reed, who planned to stay. Their secret high school love ended after graduation when Grace left town. Now, Reed is back, taking over a family business, and Grace is home to do a favor for her sister. Obviously, sparks are still there; but, so are the reasons the relationship didn't work the first time. Grace reminded me so much of all the people I know who grew up in a small town! All through high school they plan their escape from their hometown and can't wait to get away! She goes off, gets her dream job, yet she is finding the life she thought she wanted a bit...meh. Reed had a great life in Michigan...or so he thought. Now he is back home taking over his uncle's business. He always loved his hometown though, and is enjoying being back. Most of the tension comes from Grace. She is so resistant to moving back to her small, country town. Reed is determined and its hot! I loved that he didn't let the past pain make him too angry to try to win Grace back. Overall, if you enjoy the second chance romance trope, small town romance, or big, crazy families you can't help but love, Embracing her Heart is a perfect pick! It was sweet and realistic with a hero that will have you swooning hard!
