I'm always a bit apprehensive going into books that have a huge amount of hype (especially if they're sequels, since it's inevitable to ahve some sort of expectations), but I'm super glad that Queen of Nothing totally lived up to the story build up! Last we saw Jude she was banished to the mortal realm despite being crowned the (unknown) High Queen of Faerie through her secret marriage to Cardan, but we all knew that it was only a matter of time before she got back into the game, either to reclaim her own power or to get her brother Oak onto the throne. Ironically, it is Taryn, the sister-betrayer extraordinaire, who provides the means of her return, but as per usual with Jude things don't go quite as she planned. Getting "rescued" by Madoc as he begins his campaign to wrest the crown for himself is step one in what turns into an extremely complicated political intrigue very quickly, so I hope readers were paying attention or the story will quickly devolve into chaos! For anyone who also reads adult fantasy, the politics and multiple intrigues shouldn't be too hard to keep track of, but I definitely give Holly Black props for challenging her readers and keeping us on our toes until the very last pages. I particularly liked how she utilized traditional faerie lore and curses to keep the story grounded and away from being a completely spies and knives thriller - we did come here for some traditional fantasy elements, afterall, and it is her artful blend of urban modernism getting caught up in the rules of Fey which really make her voice stand out. Now I think it's time to go back and re-read Tithe (since it's been far too long) so I have some more of her wonderful writing to tide me over until her next series kicks off! What a great conclusion! There is some great fanart about this series and it's actually what first drew me in. I love that you understand the cover after you read the book. I loved this series so much and I hated seeing it end. I hope we see a spinoff series in the future. ❤️ I could barely put this book down, it was so good! I also need all of the outfits in this book, the descriptions are so amazing, I could picture every scene. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I love Holly Black’s world-building and plot lines, the only complaint I have is I wish there were more Jude and Cardan moments, but I think this trilogy’s enemies-to-lovers was done well so I can’t complain too much. (
