Bobby is his film name...he was born Vern and is from a small, rural California town where neither he, nor in anyone else in the town, could accept his sexual orientation. When he finally escapes and arrives at the doors of "Johnnies"... it not only opens its doors, but the men open their hearts to him...something this 19-year-old would have to try and get used to. Then there was Reg. He had been at Johnnies for 10 years and was drawn to Bobby from the first day he saw him. I felt so sorry for Reg and his giant problem at home, that he should never have had to deal with in the first place, his mentally ill sister. There was just so much trauma in this one. I couldn't image as much of a "family" the men are at Johnnies, and how much John and Dex look out for all of them...that someone didn't see that Reg was hopelessly drowning trying to care for sister. Reg was extremely likeable in his simplicity but resigned that his life was never going to be good enough for Bobby. It wasn't my favorite of the series but I was very happy with the ending. It seemed a long time coming. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Vern Roberts couldn't wait to turn eighteen and get the hell out of Dogpatch, California. But city living is expensive, and he's damned desperate when Dex from Johnnies spots him bussing tables. As "Bobby," he's a natural at gay porn. Soon he's surrounded by hot guys and sex for the taking, but it's not just his girlfriend back in Dogpatch-or her blackmailing brother-that keeps him from taking it. It's the sweet guy who held the lights for his first solo scene, who showed him decency, kindness, and a smile. Reg Williams likes to think he's too stupid to realize what a shitty hand life dealt him, but Bobby knows better. What Reg lacks in family, opportunity, education, and money, he makes up for in heart. One fumbling step at a time, they connect, not just in their hearts but in their bodies, where sex that's not on camera, casual, or meaningless, becomes the most important thing in the world. But Reg is hampered by an inescapable family burden, and he and Bobby will never fly unless he can find a way to manage it. Can he break the painful link to his unrealized childhood and grow into the love Bobby wants to give? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

2018 review
This whole series is so good. Amy Lane's one of the writers who can carry an entire crowd through a long series and make everyone memorable. A significant portion of Reg & Bobby's story overlaps previous events in earlier novels. My memory's not the best, but I can track how everything fits together in this series. This one is particularly compassionate about mental illness (Reg's sister). ( )
