When a notorious serial killer that she helped put behind bars escapes prison, Brynn's boss hires Wolfe Security to protect her and her second chair, Ross. Brynn balks at the idea of having her movements restricted, but her boss insists as other law enforcement personnel involved in the serial killer case start turning up murdered. Sparks fly when Brynn resists the efforts of the attractive bodyguard, Erik Morgan and his team, who have been assigned as her protection detail. Desperate Girls is well written with snappy dialogue and a good plot line including a nice twist at the end, however, the bodyguard/protectee romance has been done so often, that it is difficult to find any new ground to cover. I enjoyed this book but found it lacking in originality. I wasn't sure what I was going to get when I saw the cover of this book, but the description intrigued me. I was NOT disappointed! This was my first Laura Griffin book and I now need to go and read her other books! Brynn is a force to be reckoned with in court, but she needs help when the man she put away when she was a prosecutor escapes prison. Erik is one member of the security team that helps to protect her, and sparks fly when he meets Brynn. I love the drama, suspense, the major twist at the end that surprised me, I couldn't put the book down, I didn't want to stop reading it. Cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out. This review is based on a galley copy from netgalley, courtesy of the publisher. All opinions are my own. Defense attorney Brynn Holloran is a force to reckon with in the courtroom, but in her personal life she's a mess. When a vicious murderer she prosecuted resurfaces and starts killing everyone who helped put him behind bars, Brynn turns to a private security firm for protection. When Brynn defies advice and gets involved in the investigation, even the former Secret Service agent assigned to protect her may not be able to keep her safe. This book had suspense, action, romance and sex, with a little more on the suspense side, which I liked, than the romance side. I enjoyed the perspectives of the security firm and some of the things they did to protect Brynn. Overall, a fun read. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
