- About a girl and her cat, Sassafras. They have fun in the spring snow and help animals that do not like the snow avoid it.

- I would have this in my classroom because it is a sweet easy read.

This book is easy to read and understand. There are still some pictures to help students transition from picture books to chapter books. Honestly, the content was not as appealing as I thought it would be. It might be interesting for some students, but honestly, I thought it was poorly written. I wouldn't not use this if I had this available, but I would probably choose something else if I had the option. The Rainbow Magic Fairy books, Junie B. Jones, or other books like that would be my choice over this one.

I would recommend this book to middle elementary school students. This is a series book and this one is about a snow storm that they get trapped in. This would be good in the classroom because it is a series and can keep students engaged through different adventures the characters go on.

This book is good for an intermediate age group, or to be read aloud to a primary age group. It tells the story of a young girl snowed in, experimenting with making snow shoes for her cat and caring for the "caterflies" she finds in the woods. I would definitely have it in my classroom; it has the fun of mythical creatures combined with an emphasis on the scientific method.

I honestly enjoyed reading this book. Zoey and Sass helped out a pair of caterflies by helping them save their babies from getting to cold and freezing. I love how they have the scicence to go along with this book. I think it can help open up a world of science interests for kids. I think its an exciting thing her and her mom have together and they can share this and bond over it. For sure a series I will need to buy and keep on hand. ( )
