This is an astonishingly candid insight into the world of Billie Piper. Famous since the age of 15 - first as the face of Smash Hits, then as a pop singer with three No.1 hits in less than three years - Billie Piper has won over the critics and the British public for a second time by re-inventing herself as an actress in BBC productions of Much Ado About Nothing, The Canterbury Tales and, of course, Doctor Who. And that's just the professional Billie. In this book, for the first time, she talks honestly about her whirwind romance and marriage to Chris Evans, about her battles with anorexia and the dark side of teen fame. Moving, funny and honest, this is a page-turning read by one of the nation's favourite stars.… (más)

I am not certain what I expcted form this book. but i was please with the result. Billy is noted as being the authoer and in that case she is not as educationally void as she suggests. unlike some biographies I have read she does not hide the actual story but neither does she revil in dishing the dirt.
In the earlier part of the bok you can almost hear her trying to work out where her life went wrong. she had the compete fairy tale, she was plucked out of nowhere to be a pop star. Her family loved her and was prepared to do anything for her. Yet at the end of three years she had made very little in the way of money and was an emotional wreck with an eating disorder.
She married at 18 to a man many years her senior, but when you read it from billies point of view he was her saviour, she managed to get some persepective into her life. he gave her permission to slob out. I can still see the controlling aspects of chris in this tale, but give him his due as far as I can tell he loved her enough to let her go when she no longer need him. When she stopped playing at being a grown up and became one.
for an autobiography it was very open about her life and emotions. some things were missed out but she was very open about that too. I like wher she stated that their had been another boyfriend but he had done something to upset her (I think it was a kiss and tell story with the press after they finished) so she wasn't going to think about him, so could not write about him.

In the end I was glad that Billie got through that period in her life. I felt sorry that she had to go through it. I felt more sorry for her parents who could see some of what was happening but Billie was now so far away from them emotionally and geogrphically there was little they could do - it's not like they in the end gained anything. This is the story of a person who slowly fell appart under the spotlight of stardom and has now managed to be put back together

Very revealing autobiography. Billie just amazes me and reading her life story made me just love and respect her so much more. ( )

Lightweight but revealing autobiography. Poor editing and uneven ghostwriting can't overcome Piper's natural charisma. ( )
