This book often shows up in my “you might like...” I noticed it was a short read and decided to read it. I’m not exactly sure why it was recommended to me - I’m not really into crime fiction. It’s basically the season of Dexter with Lumen.

Anyway, the writing was good but I doubt I’ll read the rest of the series. If you enjoy romance crime vigilante fiction you may appreciate this series. ( )

Wow! First word that comes to mind after reading the first book of this series is just WOW! The story is told with such great fluency that doesn’t stop, not even at the last page. From the quotes to quibbles, it’s non stop making me laugh out loud and even sometimes blush. Lana is a woman to be reckoned with and Logan doesn’t stand a chance… but in a good way so far… ( )

My review:

To start, my biggest complaint about this book is that there isn't more of it. I feel as though I am lacking detail and just want more of it. Even so, I am drawn in. The plot is fascinating and I am drawn in to figure out what will happen next.

The book goes back and forth between the two main characters' points of view, which is something that if done well, is my favorite. The author puts the reader in both of the characters' mindsets, wanting me to find out where this is going. I tend to stay away from books or series that are heavily hyped really quickly, and wait to see what the long term opinion is, but the concept in this book drew me in.

I had a hard time stopping myself from beginning the next book in the series to write this review! There are trigger warnings that should be followed if they apply to you.

Great concept for a book so far, I just wish I had more of it. ( )

The Risk is the first book in the much hyped Mindf*ck series. The premise appealed to me a lot (who doesn't love a good 'old revenge story?!). I read this with the girls again, we all read the consequences series together and that was a mind f*ck so this was just a continuation of what we love. Can I just say I expected the end and still loved it. ( )

This is one I wish we could have 1/2 stars for....4.5 for sure. My criteria for 5 stars is I would read it again. This just isn't a book I would read again even as great as it is! The book is very well written in the main characters voice/thoughts with dialogue too. I love crime drama shows so this is right up my alley. I really like revenge seekers too. I'm ready to buy the next one.

1/6....I'm on book 4 now and changing my rating to 5 stars. I can't put these books down! ( )
