The story that started with Escape to Challenge continues in Warrior's Gamble, book two of the Moondark Saga, a series of novels set in a post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest. As the conflict between Harbundai and Ola looms, Gan Moondark and the strangers must now take their place on the battle lines. Gan himself has saved two of the strangers, Tate and Jones, and together they continue their perilous journey through the Enemy Mountains. The rest of the creche survivors find themselves guests--or rather prisoners--of Altanar, the cruel king of Ola. Conway and the other survivors in Ola struggle to survive in a kingdom at the mercy of a tyrannical king, where simple freedoms that the creche survivors once took for granted can be punishable by death. All the while, Gan and his small band make their way into the territories of Harbundai, and find themselves in the middle of a power struggle as the kingdom braces itself for war with Ola.
