This was a pretty good story, but the main hurdle to their relationship was really just one of them stubbornly resisting something past the point of reason. Like 80% of their circumstances align nearly ideally from the start, but rather than just work on ironing out that 20% he spends like 100 pages trying to deny that there's anything there at all. A whole host of excuses, but not a lot of consistency with them. Plus some hypocrisy and self denial thrown in, I just wanted to be like 'dude, what are you even doing?' lol. Other than that, I found Mirceo quite funny, and I generally liked them both. Also everytime they're physically described I pictured them- which amused me to no end. =D Argh, cliffhanger ending? The last 20% of my ebook was/is the first chapters of the next book, so I fell victim to the classic "I have 20% more story wait ... nooo" scenario. The pacing in this one was weird. The conflict was odd, and it seemed heavy handed with some of the reasons they couldn't be together, just to have them essentially *poof* fixed. All that said, it's still IAD and I will read them all because no matter the flaws, these books are addictive and I love all the crazysauce within. This story did not start out well for me, I did not like either character and almost didn't bother to continue reading. They come across as self-absorbed, with little regard for others feelings. It starts with them meeting while at an orgy. Mirceo flirts shamelessly but Caspion is completely hetero. They become hedonistic friends, taking in the world and it's sexual pleasures until they are dared to kiss each other by nymphs. Caspion doesn't understand the heat from that kiss, but Mirceo wants more and suspects Caspion might be his blooded mate. Caspian runs but Mirceo isn't going to give up on him, especially when a Seer confirms he's his mate. I only started enjoying their story after they reunited, learning Caspian's back story, his struggles and what drives him and why he fought their attraction so hard. Mirceo's change from manipulative to determined not to give up on his mate was also endearing, but their connection seemed to come and go throughout the story. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ Doesnt matter if its MM or MF Kresley Cole does it again.... seriously, cuz why else do i put away her books no later than a single day... however i didnt give it 5 stars simply cuz i found myself rubbing neurons 2gether (basically splitting atoms) just trying to remember the characters from prev books... i know. kinda of bitchy on my part, but this series is one of the few i consider an obsession... and ill be the first to admit, that it chaps my ass when i see her other series publishing their next installments repeated (though i'm biased because I only follow IAD)... However, i do appreciate Sweeet Ruin being pub last year, & 2 this year!!! So, guess i now have no room to complain. 1 thing i will point out, the MC seemed more, i dont know... dare i say cliche... but only in fact that Cas and Mirceo's situation seemed to be based mostly on assumption instead of just outright accusing each other and shouting why they were so pissed... ive never got that "well, if some1 would speak up" feeling with any of her prev characters,,, at least, not significantly that i remember it, or it could be that her prev books also had bigger problems that needed solving aside from the MC's relationship. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Prince Mirceo Daciano and his new friend, Caspion the Tracker, comb the streets of Dacia, drunkenly seeking out pleasures of the flesh. In what should have been a typical night, they coax a bevy of nymphs to bed. To impress their females, the demon and the vampire kiss on a dare. Once they finally break away from their soul-searing kiss, they find themselves alone--and shaken. Had they imagined their explosive chemistry? Obstacles--ranging from a death sentence to exile in a war-torn dimension--threaten to destroy their lives . . . and the vulnerable promise in that one kiss. Even if Mirceo accepts Caspion as his fated mate, the seductive vampire still must convince the stubborn demon that their bond is forever. And any royal Dacian union must receive the blessing of King Lothaire, an unpredictable and savage killer. . . . No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

It was good, but definitely not up to her standards.
The intensity and chemistry she normally puts in her stories was missing in this one. So was the tongue in cheek humor.
That said, the story and romance was still good, just not great. ( )
