I'm surprised that I liked this book as much as I did, because I wasn't a big fan of Hassen or Maddie in the last book. Somehow they both grew on me and I ended up liking their story a lot. I think that the changes happening to the tribe are really interesting too, and I'm excited to see where the series goes. This one had a bit of a slow start -- Maddie took a while to grow on me. But 1: excellent smut. and 2: the plotline takes an enormous twist and once again I find I am super invested in the whole ice planet barbarian tribal group and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I mean, and also, I am really enjoying the hints of more going on in the background -- Harlo's math problems, the new mysteries unfolding -- all just spectacular. Looking forward to more. This series continues to be lovely. I'm pleased that the quality is not suffering as the series continues. This story had plenty of plot along with the romance element. The alien planet continues to throw problems at the humans and sa-kui both. The romance was sweet and believable. I'm pleased with how every character seems different than the other couples who've come before. Looking forward to the next one. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
As a newcomer to the alien tribe, I've struggled to find my place. It might be because I'm a tad headstrong at times. And yes, I might have thrown a few things at people's heads. But I had a good reason to pitch a fit-my shy sister was stolen away right under my nose. Of course, now she's back and mated. Everyone's happy . . . except me. I need . . . affection. Attention. Okay, I'm lonely. Really lonely. Strangely enough, the only person that I think understands what I'm going through is the same blue-skinned brute that stole my sister. It's wrong to hook up with him, even as a mindless fling. Except . . . I'm not so good with the whole "rules" thing. And he's not so great with the "fling" thing. Contains mature themes. My rating:
5 out of 5 stars.
I really liked Maddie's character. I found her extremely relatable, especially as a plus-sized woman. She was struggling so much and I think that a non-resonating woman would really struggle. Also, I very much would be missing pizza and burgers.
Hassen is sympathetic even if he was a jerk in the last book. I was able to forgive him.
Also, a thing happened. A big plot thing that I won't spoil but I was crying sooo hard. That's a huge change. Presumably a necessary one but oh my goodness I was not ready for that level of trauma for our alien friends.
This isn't my favorite of the Ice Planet books but it was a solid read and I had a lovely time. I think most readers who love the series will enjoy this installment.
