Ananke has to be stopped. After Commercial Suicide, events kick back into gear... and you know, do I care? Kieron Gillen clearly puts a lot of work into these comics, and there's some clever misdirects and detailed hint-laying and complicated long-term gambits, but fundamentally, I find it hard to care about these characters. I am decently interested in Laura and Cassandra, but there are so many other gods who I often forget about or do remember but don't care about.

This volume was much better than the last. The story is back on track and there is a full on light show battle. ( )

Enjoying the series so far. This time around Persephone is back and it fully explains how she didn't die. But she is back with a vengeance ! Artwork is still phenomenal and love the characters as well as the story line. ( )

This volume brought me back to the level of fandom I had after volume 1. Excellent writing, characterization... art is stunning. Color use is evocative and fresh.

Even though the action picked up in this collection, I’m still feeling rather apathetic about this series as a whole. It’s great that Persephone didn’t die (like we all thought she did at the finale of the previous collection) and that Ananke’s betrayal of the young gods/goddesses is revealed, but it almost seemed too easy for Persephone to use her powers to reveal the truth behind some of the events that Ananke had been falsely relaying to her cohorts. Of course, with Ananke dead the game is now completely different since the gods/goddesses have no one overseeing their time on Earth. Will Persephone take on the role of leader (doling out harsh justice as she sees fit) or will it be the “adult” of the group, the unwilling triple incarnate Cassandra. Or will the group splinter to live out the remainder of their limited 2 years? Considering that Ananke was the cause behind many of the previous divinities’ deaths, it may be a possibility that the 2 year limit may get thrown out the window! ( )
