Vibe similar to “Kulti.” ( ) I'm torn on this one. I'll start with the negatives. First, Aiden is a jerk at the beginning. Seriously, I did not know how the author could ever redeem him and was about to quit. Second, there was a lot of language that was completely unnecessary, especially when one character made a point not to swear. Third, a good round of editing could have cut out over 100 pages. Many thoughts were repeated over and over again. Did I mention that there was a lot of repetition? Seriously, there was a lot of repetition. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Now I must start over in order to calm down. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. I think I can get over it now that I have counted to ten two times in a row. Now for the positives. This is not a love-at-first-sight type of story. The characters did not like each other and then gradually became friends and then gradually started loving each other. They got to know each other as people, with goals, hopes, and dreams. I don't see that much in romance, even in the Christian fiction that I typically read. For some reason, this book was just really difficult to put down. I also thought it was super cool that Vanessa was not happy with how out-of-shape she was so she decided to get up and do something about it by training for a marathon. She did not give up even with situations were tough and that is part of why she and Aiden were a good couple. 3.5 Stars Content: Vanessa uses a LOT of language (Aiden doesn't), both come from abusive home lives, one scene at the end that is easy to skip Nah sorry Aiden’s into Vanessa because she’s basically his mom, and he’s too emotionally lazy to pursue so much as a passing acquaintanceship with anyone else, despite working on a literal team in which friendship is practically inherent and still has no friends despite living with a teammate who shares his career, interests, and schedule. I think he’s a boring man-child! Thought there’d be more to nearly 700 pages lol but no! Vanessa is the PA and all-round dogsbody for Aiden Graves, a star football player based in Dallas. He's from Canada (hence the title) and embodies the grumpy hero. She's only working for him until she saves enough money to start her own business, but when she finally quits, she's surprised he doesn't want to let her go. In fact, he needs a green card marriage and thinks Vanessa would be perfect for the part. The story is told from Vanessa's POV and I wish that we got to see Aiden's POV once in a while as it was hard to determine his motivations. I couldn't tell but my head canon is that he was in love with her the whole time though you never knew it until the end of the book. It's a long book, but Vanessa keeps things interesting and Aiden keeps it intriguing. Definitely a fun book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Mariana Zapata's most beloved book, The Wall of Winnipeg and Me??now with new exclusive content! Vanessa Mazur refuses to feel bad for quitting??she knows she's doing the right thing. The thankless job of personal assistant to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans for her life, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear one more day for a man who could never find it in him to tell her good morning, congratulate her on a job well done, or wish her a happy birthday??even when she was spending it working for him. The legendary "Wall of Winnipeg" may be adored by thousands, but after two years Van has had enough. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door begging her to come back, she's beyond shocked. Mr. Walled-Off Emotions is actually letting his guard down for once. And she's even more dumbstruck when he explains that her job description is about to become even more outrageous: something that takes the "personal" in personal assistant to a whole new level. What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wa No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
